Man, 42, Docked For Malicious Damage

The Rivers State Police Command has arraigned an accused  person before a Port Harcourt senior magistrate court for alleged conspiracy and malicious damage.

The accused  person, Lucky Worlu, 42, is standing trial on a two court change of conspiracy  and malicious damages before Senior Magistrate, Daisy N. Wanjoku.

The Police Prosecuting Officer, Sergent Ikosi-Omanoye told the court that the accused  person and one other at large on the 17th day of  March, 2013 at Rumuigbo in the Port Harcourt, Magisterial District did conspire  among themselves to commit misdemeanor to wit-malicious damage.

The police prosecutor further  alleged that  the accused person on the same date and place in the aforesaid  magisterial district did willfully damage pegs used for foundation on a piece  of land valued at one hundred thousand naira (N100,000.00) and survey  beacon on the said piece of land property of one Mr. Chijioke Borns.

He declared  that the accused  person  committed an offence punishable  under section 517A and 457 of the criminal code cap 37 laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.

The accused person pleaded not guilty of  the charge brought against him.

The presiding Senior Magistrate, Daisy Wanjoku, granted the  accused bail to the tone of N300,000 with one surety in like sum. The  surety  must be a civil servant on salary grade  level 8, will swear an affidavit of means and attach  two passports wire accord to her must be verified by the  police prosecutor. The case was adjourned to 22nd April, 2013.
