Keshi Calls For Prayers Over W/ Cup Ticket
Super Eagles Coach Steven Keshi says the team needs support and prayers to qualify and clinch the World Cup.
Keshi made the statement in an interview with newsmen at a grand reception organised in his honour by the Ogbelani of Illah in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta, Obi Nwabuenu Mebu at the weekend.
Keshi was honoured with a chieftaincy title of “Onwanetiliora of Illah”.
He was among the five indigenes of Illah recognised for their various contributions to the community and the nation as a whole.
The coach, who said that the recent outing by the Eagles in Calabar was not impressive, stressed the need for the country to work together for the desired success in the task ahead.
He said with prayers, understanding and discipline, the team would qualify for the World Cup and achieve its dreams.
“To enable us achieve our goals, we must work together, we have to believe in God for good health and we have to be disciplined. “
Keshi thanked the community for the hounour and described the title as “priceless”.
Earlier, the Ogbelani, who spoke through the spokesman, Chief Peter Ofuase, urged Keshi to work harder, adding that as champions, the Eagles were a team to beat.
The Ogbelani challenged other indigenes of the community to emulate Keshi, whom he observed had excelled in his chosen career.
The community leader urged the coach to attract more development to the area and assured him of the people’s prayer and support to enable him to excel in his endeavours.
