Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, has commended the courage, forthrightness and resilient spirit of his Ekiti State counterpart, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Olayinka, who passed on Saturday, April 6, 2013.

Engr. Ikuru gave this commendation while condoling with Governor Kayode Fayemi, his wife, Kemi, the government and good people of Ekiti State, especially the Famuagun family on the demise of the late deputy governor.

“An enduring symbol of selfless humanity and a standard-bearer who uplifted the less privileged, one definitely was lost for words in the first few minutes of receiving the shocking news,” Engr. Ikuru asserted.

He maintained that it was because of the kind of life she lived that she was able to touch so many lives cutting across religious and ethnic divides within such a short time, stressing that the late Ekiti deputy governor whom he described as an epitome of humility and honesty would be remembered for a very long time to come.

“As the sun sets on this benevolent amazon on this most inappropriate time when her valuable contribution is much needed in the development of  Ekiti and our nation”, Engr. Ikuru said, and prayed that the Lord would grant the government and people of Ekiti State the strength and endurance to bear the irreparable loss”.
