HIV/AIDS Coverage: The Tide Staff Bags Int’l Scholarship

A senior journalist, with The Tide Newspapers, Mrs Sogbeba Dokubo, has been awarded scholarship to cover the 7th International AIDS Society (IAS) conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Media Scholarship Award letter, signed by Conference Director/Deputy Executive Director, Anouk Ray and sent by e-mail to Mrs Dokubo reads in part: “On behalf of the 7th IAS conference on HIV pathogenesis, treatment and prevention organisers, I am pleased to confirm that you have been awarded a scholarship to cover 7th IAS Conference … to be held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.”

According to the letter, Mrs Dokubo was the successful candidate picked out of 1,200 applicants “based upon the selection criteria”.

The conference, slated for June-July, 2013, is a global event that attracts various experts involved in HIV/AIDS intervention across all continents.

Specifically, journalists to cover the conference are certified devotees to HIV/AIDS coverage in various countries of the world.
