Commission Restates Commitment To Sports Dev
Rivers State Sports Com-missioner, Hon Fred Igwe has reiterated the state’s commitment to sports development that directly affects the lives of the people.
Hon. Igwe stated this when members of the GSM Centenary Football Competition organizers paid him a courtesy visit in his office recently.
The Sports boss said that Governor Chibuike Amaechi’s determination to present Rivers State has the best in terms of sports manpower and facility development will not dwindle, even in the twilight of his administration.
He said the ministry operates an open door policy to all well meaning organizations that are willing to expose youths of the sate to the goodness of sports.
According to him, the peace being enjoyed in state is opening new doors to investors in all sectors of the state economy.
President of the GSM Centenary Football competition, Rich Oganihu, said the competition is part of the GSM operating firms to communicate through sports in view of the uniting force football has in the country as it celebrates it centenary.
Oganihu said, the competition is expected to boost mutual communication, sports and peace in the Niger Delta for youths between the ages of 17 to 28 years.
