The President of the Ascension Apostolic   Church, Rev Dr. Pius Kinee has called on Christian faithful to demonstrate a great  sense of commitment  to the service of God and humanity in the daily activities.

The cleric gave the charge during the commissioning and handing over of a four bedroom patronage and borehole, donated by a philanthropist, Elder Julius Kooh at the Ascension Apostolic  Church Gbam Boue, in Khana LGA, recently.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Kinee,  said the greatest creed was the ‘service of God and humanity”, and described  the gesture as an objective in line with biblical injunction of selfless service. He commended the philanthropist over the gesture and called on individuals and corporate  organisations to serve God by affecting the lives of their fellow  humans positively.

Dr. Kinee also called on the beneficiary Church to make judicious use of the facilities  provided.

The cleric also emphasised on the need for Christians to live exemplary lives devoid of greed and hypocrisy.

In his remark, the resident Pastor of the beneficiary Church, Pastor Prince Okoro, thanked the donor for providing the facilities for the Church, and stated that the facility would be put in its best use to the service of God.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the handing over ceremony, the donor, Elder, Julius Kooh, said the project was in line with God’s directive to build a house for the Church,  adding  that the final handing over was the fulfillment of a dream and divine obligation.

He pointed out that his passion for humanitarian  service, was spurred by his humble background  and upbringing as an orphan, as he had to give back to God and society that made him.

He called on youths in Ogoni to embrace  peace shun violence activities, which  often results in wanton lost of lives and properties.
