Amaechi Tasks Philanthropists On Dev

The Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has urged philanthropists in the state to assist the government in its developmental aspirations.

Rt Hon. Amaechi said this during the official commissioning and dedication of projects embarked upon by Nted Foundation for Agwat Obolo Community in the Andoni Local Government Area.

The Governor who was represented by the Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Hon. Orom Nte Erekorokuma said that the projects have completed the efforts of the State government and the council in the development of the community.

He also urged the youths to learn from the life of the founder of the Nted Foundation, Chief Anthony Ntedeng by working very hard and avoid those things that will bring disgrace to their communities.

Also speaking, the chairman of the occasion, who is also the chairmen of Ida Obolo, Mr Cyrus Nkangwung said that Chief Anthony Ntedeng has brought light to Obolo land.

Mr Nkangwung said that the activities of Ntedeng should serve as a lesson to every Andoni man to think more about the development of Andoni.

According to him, God’s transformation agenda for Obololand has been manifested through Ntedeng and urged others to key in by using their resources for the development of Obololand.

Also speaking, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Andoni Chapter, Rev. Gilbert Awajimijan said that the feat by the foundation chairmen represented a huge investment in the service of God and humanity.

Rev. Awajimijan said that this situation should serve to remind the people, especially politicians of the need to invest in the development of their communities.

In his speech, the Chairman and Founder of Nted Foundation who is also the President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Chief Anthony Ntedeng said that the projects were part of the foundation initiative to reach out to the down trodden in the society.

He also said that, the Foundation has gone beyond its confirms by embarking on projects that are of international standard.

The projects commissioned includes; twelve classroom blocks and Assembly hall for Community Secondary School Agwat-Obolo, 115 Metres Agwat-Obolo long bridge. Otuko-Agwat-Obolo bridge and a landing Jetty at Odidim-Okwala in Agwat-Obolo.

The rest are; water treatment plants, 60 outbound engines and a take off grant for communities in Andoni, a worshipping complex and vicarage for Agwat – Obolo community, lack road to model primary health centre skill acquisition centre amongst others.
