Uche, Top Scorer In Turkey

Nigeria international forward Kalu Uche now sits solely on top of the scorers chart of the Turkish Super Lig after scoring in Kasimpasa’s 1-1 draw with Mersin Ýdmanyurdu on Monday night.

Uche put visiting Kasimpasa ahead with a 28th minute strike to silence the home crowd at the Tevfik Sirri Gur Stadium.

However Mert Nobre equalised for Mersin from the spot to ensure both sides had a share of the spoils.

Mersin had two Nigerians on parade on the night. While young Super Eagles midfielder Raheem Lawal saw 90 minutes of action, former Enugu Rangers winger Nduka Ozokwo came off the bench in the 59th minute.

Uche is having a great run of form as he has scored consecutively in his last five games, and leads the top scorers chart with 15 goals from 25 games.

Kasimpasa are now placed fifth and are level on points with fourth placed Bursaspor who occupy the final European qualifying spot.
