Sharks Coach Regrets Home Loss
The technical crew of Sharks’ football club of Port Harcourt has apologised to the teeming fans of the club over the 0-1 loss suffered in day three of the Nigeria professional football league 2012/2013 at home to Kwara United.
Chief coach of the club Daboere Dokubo who gave the apology on behalf of the technical crew and players after an emergency meeting with the general manager of the club,Okey Kpalukwu said the team will make up for the loss by picking valuable points on the road before week nine.
“let me use this opportunity to apologise to our teeming fans over our loss to Kwara united on Sunday. And assuring them that we still have the team tol take us to glory land.
“We will certainly recoup this point from any of our opponent at away before week nine”. Ere said
The meeting was at the instance of the general manager, Okey Kpalukwu who had reservations following the turn out of events on Sunday.
Kpalukwu however assured the technical crew of the unflinching support of the sports commissioner, Hon. Fred Igwe and the Rivers State Government to deliver the goods for Sharks FC following promises to correct the mistakes that led to the back to back losses in the league.
“There is nothing we can do right now, we have to make do with the playing staff we have right now”.
“Management will continue to support you (technical crew) just as we expect you to replicate same on the bench”. Kpalukwu added
Sharks next game is at away against Gombe united on Thursday the twenty eight of march 2013.
Meanwhile, chairman of Sharks FC Supporters Club, Minaiyo Igani has expressed fears over the fate of the club in the Premier League.
According to him, all the department of the team failed against Kwara United. The technical crew must go back to the drawing board to correct the shortcomings noticed in the team, if not, I foresee something terrible happening to the team this season.
Honestly, I am scared, we have just lost to Kwara United, what would happen when eternal rival like Enyimba, Rangers, Heartland, Kano Pillars and others come calling? He queried rhetorically.
He stated that the club recruited 35 players for the season and the technical crew should go to work to raise good players capable of producing positive results.
