Rep Slams PDP Govs’ Forum

Barely a month after the formation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, the member representing Ahoada West/Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Federal constituency in the House of Representatives Asita O. Asita says the forum doesn’t have the capacity to whttle down the influence of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum.

Speaking with newsmen recently during the burial of late Elder Steward Nwigor Ogiri at Oshika village in Ahoada West Local Government Areas, Hon Asita said that the Nigerian Governors’ Forum is a powerful organisation that is respected internationally.

‘The PDP Governors’ Forum is an entirely governors matter and  I don’t think that it has the capacity to whitle down the strength and power of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum.

But it is a good thing that PDP has decided to have its own governors’ forum. I believe that, may be, the other parties too will have theirs, he said.

Speaking on the 2015 elections, the National Assembly member said that it is only the Nigerian electorate that will decide who represents them at every level.

“Every Nigerian has a right to contest the election. It does not remove from anything, power belongs to the people, and so the people will decide who to give power, he said.
