The Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications will on Wednesday kick-start the maiden edition of her Open Governance Forum slated for Rivers State House of Assembly Auditorium in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
A statement signed by the Director, Public Enlightenment in the ministry, Mr Paulinus Nsirim, indicated that the forum scheduled for 10.00am, is designed as a platform for a two-day communication and feedback between government and the governed.
According to him, “we intend to use this forum to disseminate government policies and programmes while citizens will, in turn, share their perspectives and views.”
The statement explained that the overall objective is to promote good governance by fostering social cohesion between the Rivers State Government and the Civil Society.
It called on major stakeholders in information management and other key players in the society to participate actively in the forum.
