LG Boss Pledges Projects Completion …Proposes N4.23bn For 2013
The Executive Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Hon. Felix Nwaeke, has introduced the concept of zero tolerance to abandoned projects with a target of ensuring that all projects embarked upon by his administration is completed within a specific time-frame.
Hon. Nwaeke disclosed this at Afam, headquarters of the LGA, during the presentation of the 2013 budget estimate to the Oyigbo legislative assembly last Tuesday.
The chairman, who tagged the 2013 Budget, as “Budget of Consolidation of Transformation Agenda,” assured the people of Oyigbo towards the provision of security and social amenities to improve the quality of lives of the people.
He pointed out that on assumption of office in May 2011, his administration inherited a decay,” which led to the total loss of confidence and trust in leadership, as well as social and political disorder in the system.
The Oyigbo LGA, chairman who solicited for speedy passage of the 2013 appropriation bill, by the legislative house, said it was the joint responsibilities of the people of Oyigbo to ensure that the council grows at an accelerated pace of development.
The Estimated Recurrent Revenue for 2013 fiscal year is N2,530,947,628.00 only, as against N2,340,000,000 only of 2012, representing an increase of 7.5%.
The estimated recurrent expenditure for 2013 fiscal year, according to the budgetary analysis, is N1,493,047,628.00 only, representing 59% of the total budget while capital expenditure is N1,037,900,000.00 only.
