FERMA Hails Deputy Speaker On Road Projects

A member of the FERMA board, Mr Nnodim Nnali, has commended the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Emeka Ihedioha, for attracting road projects to Imo.

Nnaji made the commendation in Owerri last Tuesday during an inspection tour to ascertain the level of work in the pothole-filling project in the state.

He said some of the projects executed by FERMA in Imo State were with the support of the deputy speaker, saying the agency was determined to end bad roads in the state.

Nnaji expressed concern with the threat of gully erosion that had almost cut off a major road in Umuawaeke Amiyi community.

He said the agency had awarded 39.4 kilometres of road to tackle the problem of erosion in the community.

Also speaking, the FERMA engineer in the state, Mrs Agnes Adimelechi, said the agency was set to end the problems of potholes in the state.

She said the agency was determined to achieve its set target before the end of the year.

The traditional ruler of Umuawaeke, Eze Okeke, expressed delight with the intervention of FERMA on the gully erosion.

He explained that many lives had been lost to the gully, especially road users.
