Ex-Governorship Candidate Plans Empowerment Scheme For Youths
A former gubernatorial candidate of the African Political System in Rivers State, Chief Felix Amadi, says he is planning an all- encompassing youth empowerment scheme in his community that would bind the youths together and promote unity.
Chief Amadi stated this shortly after his installation as the Eze Krukru I of Rumumukrukru, by the paramount ruler of Mgbuesilaru, Eze Ejikeme Wali at the community recently.
He said empowerment scheme was one of the strongest forces that could hold young people together, adding that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop’.
He expressed regrets that the youths had misused a similar scheme in provided for them in the past, insistin, that he had no option than to re-embark on the same venture as their leader to ensure that they succeed.
The ex-guber candidate was not specific as to when to commence the scheme, but said it would start in earnest immediately all logistics were in place.
He warned against unseriousness among the youth, while calling on them to adopt proactive measures that would change their lives for the better.
Amadi also expressed the view that the project could also bring the much- expected development to the community, if the beneficiaries could give it the needed attention.
He noted that he would strive to ensure that peaceful coexistence was maintained among his people in order to attract investors to the area.
The chairman of Mgbuesilaru, Barrister Precious Amadi used the opportunity to charge the newly installed chief to put everything back and forge ahead since justice had been done in the land.
He stressed that the honour done to the community leader was a call to duty, to rebuild all its broken walls, saying that Eze Wali had given him free hands to run his community.
Earlier, the monarch had charged the former guber candidate to bring his wealth of experience to bear to enable him govern his people well.
