Head Coach, Dolphins of Port Harcourt, Mr Stanley Eguma, last Monday said his team lost its week three league match to a better opponent.

Dolphins lost 0-1 to the Abubakar Bukola Saraki (Bukola Babes) team of Ilorin in the week three professional league match at the Ilorin Township Stadium.

Media officer of Dolphins, Chine Acheru, said in a statement in Port Harcourt that Eguma commended his team and the Bukola Babes for playing an entertaining game.

The statement said a 26th-minute penalty converted by Lordson Ichull made the difference in a keenly-fought encounter between the clubs.

It said Eguma admitted that he lost to a better side, although he frowned at the penalty call.

“What can I do? We did our best but lost. I can say I am not happy with the referee, but it’s a game and such things happen.

“I didn’t think that was a deserved penalty, but he gave it, and that is football. My players did their best, but it was not enough to take a point out of Ilorin,” the statement quoted Eguma as saying.

It also quoted the ABS coach, Kabiru Nuhu Dogo, as saying that he was happy that his boys are improving with every match.

“We faced difficult opponents in Dolphins. I rate them as one of the best clubs in the Nigerian league and that is why I am happy about our performance against them.

“You can see that we are improving with every game and my boys will soon hit their peak,” the statement added.
