Rivers Angels Football Club of Port Harcourt has commenced preparations for the forthcoming 2013 professional women league.

The assistant coach of the club, Whyte Ogbondah, who said this in an interview with the Tidesports explained that the club started intensive training in readiness fot the new league season.

He disclosed that about eight quality and seasoned players were recruited in order to beef  up the team ahead of the competition.

He further disclosed that six old players were dropped in order to avoid poor performance.

“The newly recruited players were tested and proved good to deliver, during the competition”, Ogbondah said.

However, the team is now poised to win the double this season, Women FA Cup and the league title, as they are determined to secure both trophies this year.

It would be recalled that the Angels won the 2012 Women FA Cup and lost the league title to the Delta Queens FC last season.
