Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Igo Aguma, has vowed to support Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State to enthrone a successor come 2015.

Hon Aguma who made the declaration while speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt said he would work for anybody that is groomed by the Governor to succeed him, because of the need to sustain the legacy that is being laid by the governor.

The former law maker who was a Sports Commissioner in the State, said anybody that loves Rivers State should not decline from seeing the actualisation of the goal.  “We need a successor that will sustain and maintain the projects Governor Amaechi has put in place”.

According to him, my ambition in 2015 is to support Governor Chibuike Amaechi to enthrone a successor.            “I shall support whoever he feels that would sustain the primary health centres, modern schools and continue with the monorail project which will help restructure the transport system in the State,” he said.

He dismissed the view that grooming of a successor was not in line with democracy, arguing that grooming of successor has been part of democracy.

“Traditionally, man will always want his child to surppass him. This is not different from politics and democracy. Amaechi is Moses, and his successor will come and take us to the promised land,” he said.
