Worried by the deplorable condition of the Plateau State Secretariat Complex which does not depict modern realities any more, the state Governor Jonah Jang has promised to tackle the issue and to fully renovate the complex before 2015.

The governor who inspected on-going work on some blocks at the state secretariat complex which are under renovation, on Friday, expressed concern over the bad condition of some of the offices within the complex.

He said “This government is not happy with the state of offices in this complex and will do everything to uplift their conditions. We hope to renovate the entire complex before 2015 to give workers the needed conducive atmosphere to put in their best.”

Jang, however, expressed satisfaction with the rehabilitation work on the four storey building that is housing five ministries in the state.

The state Chief executive also visited the ministry of finance and lauded efforts towards creating a new ICT department.

He said that the ICT centre will provide the enabling environment for workers to be computer literate as that is the current reality and stated “we want to ensure that all workers are ICT compliant for qualitative work delivery.”

According to him, “I expect all of you to see it as a challenge to be computer literate because those who can’t cope will be posted to other places.”
