Internal Wranglings Mar PMAN National Conference In PH
The 14th Biennial National Delegates Conference of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria PMAN) slated for Port Harcourt was last Wednesday marred by internal wrangling.
The conference was stopped by a faction of the Rivers State chapter of the association led by seasoned musician, Peter Samuel a.k.a Peter Stone-Cold on the grounds that he was not a ware of the conference in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
He noted that organisers of the conference Ras Murphy Van Anthony and Dr Kennya A. George were not confirmed national president and national secretary respectively as they alleged, hence the conference was illegal and lacked due process.
The seasoned musician disclosed that the decision reached so far at the national level was to set up a five-man committee to look into the crisis which was not yet done and no signal was recreated by any of the states executives including his executive in Rivers State.
However, Trumpet Jerry Demua who described himself as the deferred Eleco Chairman that brought Stone Cold into office as the state chairman of PMAN said Stone Cold had no right to stop the conference because his tenure expired on 16th November, 2012.
He disclosed that Jumbo Koripamo was appointed the sole administrator coordinator of PMAN in Rivers State until when a proper election would be conducted.
