Football, Tool For National Unity – Oladipo

The President-General, Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club (NFSSC), Dr Rafiu Oladipo, has urged the country’s leadership to use football as a tool for national unity.

The President-General said he made the call because he had seen the effect of the Super Eagles continuous victories on Nigerians worldwide.

“The atmosphere at the different match venues in which our fellow countrymen came out in the national colours were enough to make us proud as a nation.

“The songs being rendered in the three main Nigerian languages at the stadium is also something to be proud of.

“In view of this, the federal government should use football to bring about national unity,” he said.

Oladipo then renewed his call on all Nigerians to fast and pray for the team on Saturday and Sunday.

He recalled that the supporters in South Africa has always fasted for the team’s continued progress in the just concluded AFCON tournament.
