Dame Amaechi Builds 30 Nursery Schools

Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi said she has taken delivery of 30 Nursery Schools’ buildings for early child care development and education in the state.

Mrs Amaechi stated this on Monday during a visit to Andoni Local Government Area in her ongoing New Year felicitation tour of 23 local government areas of Rivers State.

The governor’s wife stated that apart from the 30 completed schools, a reasonable number of more schools are at various levels of completion.

She added that the only legacy to bequeath future generation of Rivers people is the presence of good and quality education institutions imbedded with good moral values.

Mrs Amaechi also enjoined women to complement government effort in reducing infant and maternal mortality by accessing government healthcare centres in their areas of origin.

“I want to appeal to you all to shun patronizing quacks and homes during child birth, but to access government healthcare institutions located in your area,” she said.

She advised women in Rivers State to unite against attempts to impoverish them, and rise up to the challenges of becoming self-reliance and economically independent.

The first lady appreciated Rivers women for their support in the out gone yea, and expressed optimism of a better new year.

In his speech, Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Engr. Tele Ikuru euIogised the virtues of Mrs Amaechi, describing her as a woman with a large heart.

Ikuru stated that Mrs Amaechi has provided sustainable means of livelihood for women in

Rivers State that will stand the test of time.

The visit took her to Bonny, Andoni, Opobo/Nkoro and Khana Local Government Areas.
