Dame Amaechi Bags Peace Ambassador Award

The World Union of Catholic Women Organisation will today confer the award of Ambassador of Peace on the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Dame Amaechi, at its 8th African Regional Assembly in Abuja.

The award is in recognition of her peace advocacy crusade in some crisis-ridden communities in the state and role in providing sustainable means of livelihood for families, especially women and children through the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI).

Mrs Amaechi’s award is coming barely few weeks after the Central Bank of Nigeria nominated her for its Micro Credit and Small Medium Scale Enterprises award, following her effort in championing entrepreneurial development and growth of small and medium scale enterprises in the state.

In a statement issued from office of the wife of the governor and signed by her media assistant, Dike Bekwele said Mrs Amaechi’s investiture will be the highpoint of the association’s one-week assembly in Abuja, which has over 300 delegates from various countries in Africa in attendance.
