Council Boss Vows To Flush Out Criminals

In  a bid to rid Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State of crime, the Chairman of the council, Hon Greg Nwidam, has  vowed to flush out criminal elements and stem the rising spate of crime in the area.

The chairman who decried the growing spate in kidnapping  and armed robbery in the area, said the council would continue  to partner and support law enforcement agents in the area, especially the Police in the fight against crime.

He  appealed  to community leaders, parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their  children and youths, or risk indictment  in crime related activities.

The chairman disclosed  this at Bori, headquarters  of the LGA recently during the presentation of budget estimate of N5,950,356,640 for the 2013 fiscal year.

The council boss reiterated his commitment  to initiate projects that would be of direct benefit to the people, adding that his administration would be consultative to truly represent the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

He used the occasion to warn contractors handling various projects of the council  to expedite action and ensure that the projects are completed on schedule and according to specification, stating  that  the council would sanction erring contractors.

It would be recalled that Khana had been a den of kidnappers and miscreants  in recent times, a tendency that had been of great concern to stakeholders.
