The Coach of Edo volleyball team, Eric Abisoye  has said that hard work is  responsible for the team’s 3-0 victory over their Kebbi counterparts in the final of the just-concluded NYSC sports festival.

Abisoye told Tidesports that his team was the better side because of the players’ commitment from the start of the festival.

The match, which was played at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja, saw team Edo dominating the game from start to finish.

“I am very happy that the match ended the way it did because my team was the better side today.

“The team’s success today can be attributed to hard work, commitment and discipline.

“I was able to train my girls to be hard working and disciplined both in and out of the court and this helped us today,’’ he said.

Reacting to his team’s defeat, Timothy Dikko, the coach of Kebbi squad, said the players lost confidence and focus, and eventually paid dearly for it.

“The match ended 3-0 which is not the way I wanted it to end. I wanted my team to win the trophy but we couldn’t make it.

“We will now have to go back to the drawing board and start preparing for the next edition. I will have to train my team to reach the final again,’’ he added.
