CAN Lauds Kattey’s Elevation To Deanship

Chairman  of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rivers State Chapter, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, says the elevation of Archbishop Ignatius C.O. Kattey to the position of Dean, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) is an added glory to the state.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by CAN executives to Most Rev Kattey, who is the Archbishop, Province of Niger Delta and Bishop Diocese of Niger Delta North, Apostle Aggrey listed the various national and international laurels recorded by Rivers people and said Kattey’s new position as second in command in the Anglican Communion in Nigeria was a victory not only to Christians in Rivers State but to the entire Niger Delta.

Apostle Aggrey commended the sterling leadership qualities of His grace, Most Rev’d Kattey in evangelism, church planting and monumental buildings particularly in the quality of the various programmes organised by the Diocese which he (Aggrey) described as exceptional in promoting God’s work.

The CAN chairman said the foreign mission endeavours of  His Grace were very commendable pointing out that  the Penticostal Fellowship of  Nigeria (PFI) was emulating him to reawaken was its missions.

“We are so delighted to know that a Rivers man is so elevated. hence, we are here to appreciate and congratulate you and we pray that you should do more”, he said. Responding, Most Rev’d Kattey attributed his elevation to God’s grace, pointing out that he was not the most qualified for the post. Kattey noted that the office of Dean was very demanding and solicited for prayers for him to succeed.
