Burglers Invade Obi’s House In Italy
Nigerian international midfielder Joel Obi returned home from training last Friday morning to discover that his Milan home had been broken into by burglers.
Although the reports did not state what items were stolen, the incident is evidence of the fact that football players are now targets of criminals in Italy.
Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik was held up at gunpoint on his way out of his club’s stadium last week. Former West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami also fell victim to robbers in late December last year.
Obi was not listed for Inter Milan’s midweek victory over CFR Club at the weekend as he is yet to fully shake off the injury that has sidelined him for a greater part of this season.
The 21-year-old has consequently been left out the Nigerian national team.
