APC Governors Inaugurate Zonal Committees

The Governors’ Forum of All Progressive Congress (APC) has announced the establishment of Zonal Contact and Mobilisation Committees across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Governor Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa State made the announcement when he addressed newsmen at the second forum of the governors in Abuja.

“The overwhelming public support for the merger compels us to establish Zonal Contact and Mobilisation Committees to mobilise the people for the actualisation of the ideals of APC.

“The committees will be headed by Governors Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe, North- West, Gov. Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa, North Central, Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara North West.

“Others are; Governors Rochas Okorocha of Imo, South-South, and Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti South West,” he said.

Al-makura said the committees would mobilise support for APC across political, social, religious, ethnic and professional interest groups.

“We reiterate our clarion call on all Nigerians to understand and see this initiative as a credible process to deepen democracy and national renewal,” he said.

“Our programme priorities shall be agriculture development, jobs creation, free education, affordable healthcare,’’ he said.

The governor named other priorities of the group as “infrastructural development, adequate power supply, eradication of poverty, corruption and ensure rapid technological advancement as well as industrialisation of the country.

“We shall pride ourselves as social democrats committed to organise our society based on the values of justice for all and individual freedom where everyone’s basic needs are fulfilled.”
