Amaechi’s IOTA Award, Well Deserved – Unionist
The meritorious award of excellence and induction of patronship to Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi by the Institute of Transport Administration Nigeria (IOTA) has been described as well deserved.
Comrade Chinda Ogbuji Evans, who spoke with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Monday said the recognition was a honour of hard work and good governance.
He said the group (IOTA) did not just accord him the honour, but placed him through their rigorous process which proved the governor worthy.
Ogbuji, a member of the Marketing Communication Institute of Nigeria (MCIN), noted that honours accorded individuals by any business organisation is strictly by merit and not for fun.
According to him, the award is another wake-up call to duty, saying the governor’s contribution to the transport sector of the state speaks volumes of itself.
“This is another demonstration and evidence of hardwork and achievement in the far-reaching transport sector,” he said.
He noted that it has also opened a new chapter in the transport ministry, adding that they (Ministry of Transport) should rise up to the occasion and marshal out ways that will bring development to the state.
The public adminstrator narrated how the transport sector could boost the economy of the state if well managed, and called on local investors to extend their tentacle to the sector (Transport).
Commenting on water transport, he said the government had done enough in that area , expressing hope that it will get the best before the end of this present government.
He has earlier called on those he described as detractors to retrace their steps and join hands with the governor in his quest to move the state to greater heights.
