Aero Assures Of Profitability On Sokoto Route

Following a maiden flight to Sultan Saddik Abubakar Airport, Sokoto via Abuja from Lagos, Aero contractors has expressed confidence that the new route would be well patronised.

It would be recalled that Aero had announced a fortnight ago that it would begin daily flight operations between Lagos and Sokoto via Abuja for transit passengers.

Speaking at the airport in Sokoto during the inaugural flight services, Captain Russel Leefon said, “I think it is going to be well patronize by passengers for the reason that our passengers from Lagos can conveniently connect into Abuja and continue into Sokoto.”

“So, you find out that our clients can arrive Sokoto by 9.00am and similarly those out of Sokoto can depart by 10.am and arriving Lagos by 1.15pm which is going to be very convenient”.

He explained that Aero had maintained safety records over the years as a result of dedicated employees who were compassionately attached to their jobs.

“I think it has to do with the dedicational aspects on the part of the employees, even if they come for a job in Aero to make some money you find out that when they work for one year or more, they become compassionate about their jobs, everybody no matter their area of expertise, they become a player and ensure that every system works and that is what happens today”, he noted.

Commenting on air return, he said, “my word of assurance is that air return does not mean, that aircraft is bad, passengers should not panic. It is the competence of the pilot to do air return. Is not that the engine has failed.

“The engine has not failed but we return for maintenance, to make sure that everything is put in place. Air return is not something that should cause panic, but something that should be corrected and get things right”.

Meanwhile the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar III had urged operators of airlines not to compromise the security and safety of their passengers for their business gains.

The sultan was speaking when he was handed a model of the Boeing  737 aircraft of the Aero contractors named after him and billed to operate from the Sultan Abubakar III International Airports, Sokoto to the West African Const. the aircraft will carry 104 passengers.
