Chairman, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Aminu Maigari,   said on Tuesday that the body had perfected plans to give the Women’s Football League a new lease of life.

Maigari told newsmen  in Lagos that the league would be revamped for better output. “We clearly understand the need to make the league viable and the NFF is striving towards that.

“The board has set up a league monitoring committee and those that have been delegated to ensure that we have a more viable women’s league are working round the clock. “We want a league that will be as viable as the men’s league, where we can call up quality players for competitions, like we do in the men’s league,’’ Maigari said.

The NFF chairman also said that the federation was working on ways to boost the commercial value of the league, to make it attractive to potential investors. “We want to rebrand the female league; the NFF is dealing with a lot at the moment. “But we are hopeful that this year our women’s league will get a boost in terms of its commercial value,’’ he added.
