He said that Cross River was one of Africa’s best tourism destinations, adding that Obudu Mountain Resort was one of the best tourism sites in the country. “Most Nigerians now make their bookings online with their blackberry smart phones.
“It is believed that 50 per cent of the travellers use smart phone for easy and convenient bookings and enquiries, “ Onung said. He said that the online portal was the latest product that would make the country accessible to visitors, tourists, corporate bodies and businessmen. “This will serve as an opportunity of making hotel, conference room, halls and car reservation from the comfort of their rooms, offices while on the move.“
“You can have your flight bookings in few seconds.
“An estimated number of visitors to the site will be about 500 a day,” he said. Onung said that this initiative was the first of its kind in the country, adding that it was fully a private sector approach.
