RSNC To Partner RSEA On Sanitation
The management of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC) has said it would partner with the State Environmental Sanitation Authority (RSESA) in its efforts towards improving the sanitation standard of the state.
General Manager of the corporation, Mr Celestine Ogolo, made the promise yesterday when the Sole Administrator of the sanitation authority, Mr Ade Adeogun, led other members of the authority on a courtesy visit to the corporation.
Ogolo who emphasised the importance of clean environment to the health of the citizenry stressed the need for the people to be more sanitation conscious.
He promised adequate publicity towards mobilising the people in actualising RSESA’new standard for the state, and pointed out that with the capacity of printing 35,000 copies of the newspaper per hour, the programmes and activities of the authority would be well published.
Ogolo also commended the sole administrator of RSESA for his efforts in improving the sanitation of the state within the short period he assumed office and remarked that there had been noticeable improvement in the sanitary condition of the state, particularly in Port Harcourt, and urged him not to relent in his commitment.
Earlier, the Sole Administrator, Mr Ade Adeogun, had said the visit was part of his strategy to engaging critical stakeholders particularly the media in making the state clean.
“We see the media as a major partner in helping to educate and enlighten the citizenry on sanitation and waste management,” he said adding that since he assumed office he had done a lot in re-orienting the people to realise that good sanitation was important to their health and would make them live longer.
He solicited the support of the corporation in projecting activities of the authority.
