Rivers Angels Begin Preparation For New Season

Rivers Angels Football Club of Port Harcourt has commenced preparation for the 2013 soccer season after resuming training on Monday preparatory to the March 2 kick –off date for the new league season.

The team which is determined to ensure victory in the league and federation cup this season promised to leave no stone unturned in effort to achieve set targets.

According to the chief coach of the Angels, Godwin Okon, the club has just resumed training for new year and is set for adequate preparations that can lead them to glory this season.

“We fought hard to meet our expectations last season, but could not succeed in securing the two titles, however, we did not fail totally because, we won the FA Cup title”, he said.

He continued that, it is the beginning of a new season and that the club would approach it from different dimensions in order to compete favourably and overcome challenges that are associated with the competitions.

Coach Okon disclosed that the club would strengthen its squad with new players but must confirm their quality before engaging them.

He also said that the commencement of the league season is at hand and urged players to take their training more seriously and focus on the team’s target for the new season.
