NLC Seeks Fresh Negotiation Over Minimum Wage
The leadership of Kwara State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has sought for fresh negotiation with the state government over the implementation of the minimum wage of N18,000.00 to the civil servants.
The NLC state chairman Comrade Faruq Akanbi told newsmen recently that the Kwara State government, had not entered into dialogue with the union on the implementation.
Comrade Akanbi urged the state government to review downward the PAY AS YOU EARN (PAYE) tax by civil servants.
The union leader urged the state government to give priority attention to the welfare of the pensioners through prompt payment of their emolument.
The NLC chairman commended the Kwara Stated government for the implementation of the civil servants promotion exercise.
He appealed for the prompt payment of arrears to the promoted civil servants without unnecessary delay.
