NIMASA Workers To Enjoy Co-Operative Housing Scheme

Director General of the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Ziakede Patrick Akpobolokemi recently flagged off a staff co-operative housing scheme located at Kafe District Abuja.

The Director General/ CEO who was represented by a senior staff of the agency Mrs. Fatima Suleima said the importance of the scheme cannot be over emphasized because of its peculiarity to human existence.

According to her, “The provision of shelter over ones head and that of the family is a task that is not negotiable and must be put amongst the priority list”.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Director Public Relations, Hajia Tumaka Lamidi and made available to The Tide in Lagos, the Director General pledge the commitment of his management team to ensuring that any project geared towards the improvement of staff welfare would be encouraged and supported, adding that it is good initiative by the executive members of the co-operative society.

Earlier, the president of the Agency’s co-operative society, Mr. Ike Ogbuanu noted that the objective was to provide quality and affordable houses of members of staff of the Agency who are members of the co-operative society.

He also appealed to the Director General and the executive management to assist the scheme in the area of funding in order to see to the full completion of the houses within the shortest possible time.

The highpoints of the event was the unveiling of the plaque and cutting of the tape by the Director General’s Representative.
