Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Chief Media Officer, Ademola Olajire says the Super Eagles will not disappoint Nigerians during the Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON) tournament in South Africa.

Olajire told newsmen yesterday, that the team had done enough preparations for the tournament.

He said Nigerians should not have fears about the team’s ability to produce good results during the event.

“The message is that, this championship, we have won it twice before, we are going for a third win.

“The team has prepared very well. They have been re-building over the past 15 months, which has been done well by the coach, which every Nigerian supported.

“They should just support and pray for the team and we will believe that the team will go all the way.”

Olajire said that goalkeeper Austin Ejide, injured in the friendly game against Cape Verde, would be fit for the tournament.

He said that team doctors were working on him and hopefully, he would be fully fit for the competition.

“The doctors said after the match, that he only picked up a minor knock and that is being treated. From the day of the injury, that is the ninth, we are expecting that he will be okay, it is a maximum of two weeks.

“Ejide is going to be in South Africa and we expect that if need be, he will be fully fit to take part in the Africa Cup of Nation.”

Olajire urged Nigerians to support the Eagles as they had good chances like other teams to win the trophy.
