NDDC Lauds LG For Industrial Harmony

The  Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Commissioner representing Akwa Ibom, Mr Imaobong Inyang has commended the leadership of Esit Eket council for maintaining cordial industrial relation in the area.

Inyang gave the commendation at Uquo, the counicl’s headquarters, while inaugurating utility vehicles bought by the Ibanga Etang-led administration.

He said since the assumption of Chief Etang’s administration six months ago, the council had witnessed industrial peace with the staff, political class and major stake holders.

“The way and manner the council has contained so many issues between the community and the major oil companies operating here is very commendable and shows that the council has a proactive leadership,” Inyang said.

He said the success recorded by the council was a clear index of readiness to make a difference in the overall development of the area.

The commissioner, however, charged the council chairmen to surpass the standard set by successive administrations, as a grassroots politician.

Etang had earlier reiterated the desire to make the area a model in grassroots development through the provision of basic infrastructure for the populace.

“Within the first six months of my assumption of office, the administration procured utility vehicles for the legislature.

The administrative department procured new sets of computers to commence ICT training and empower many youths through job creation.

“The council has put smiles on the faces of the staff, political class, elders, women and children during the Christmas and New Year festivities,” he stated.

He solicited for the support and cooperation of the legislature, staff, the people of Esit Eket to enable him deliver on his campaign promises.

Etang thanked God for the prevailing peace in the council “which has made it possible for multinational oil and gas companies to operate freely without disruption of their operations.” The Leader of the council, Mr  Emem Peter, commended the executive for providing the vehicles to ease the transport problem of the legislature and other personnel. He assured the chairman of a cordial working relationship between the legislature and the executive.
