In its determination to ascertain the level of integrity of buildings in some parts of the state, the Lagos State government has embarked on stock taking and inventory of buildings within the Jankara/Dosunmu area of Lagos Island, so as to know their levels of integrity.

This decision follows the fire that rocked the area last December, which informed the decision of the government to carry out the integrity test, and that any building that is found to fail the test is to risk demolition.

An official source who preferred to be anonymous told journalists that the building which fail the test will be demolished, as such as likely to pose very high risk to the people.

Many of the buildings in the area according to source are being subjected to the test due to the recent fire disaster in December.

Already, government has lost faith on the integrity of some of these buildings, which they have said constitute high risk for both residential and commercial uses.
