Special Renditions Thrill Guests At Naming Ceremony
Special renditions and praise worship by the choir thrill guests and worshippers at the
naming ceremony of little Goodness, Ibitone Rogers Jumbo held at St. Cyprians Church, Port
Harcourt, where the Vicar of the church, Venerable A. C. Abbey Kalio charged
parents to give good names to their children in order to attract the blessings
of God.
The Vicar explained that the naming ceremony of the child
is in line with the scripture and that without circumcision, a child is not
named.
The man of God used the opportunity to advice Christians
that God is demanding the circumcision of all hearts, arguing that the heart of
man is full of evil and desperately wicked. He maintained that Christians
should be circumcised inwardly so as to attract God’s blessings.
The Bishop of Niger Delta Diocese of the Anglican
Communion, the Rt. Rev Ralph C. Ebirien, who performed the naming of the child
adviced parents to always give their children good and meaningful names that
will affect the child positively and attract the blessings of God and not a bad
name that will affect the child negatively.
The Bishop lamented that most parents give their children
names based on the circumstances surrounding their birth of which if it is a
bad name, challenges follow the child and the child will hardly achieve his
potential and success in life.
The father of the child, Rev. Rogers Jumbo, in his speech
testified the goodness of God in his
life and family and thanked God for the safe delivery of his wife. He also used
the opportunity to thank parishioners families, friends and well wishers who
grace the occasion.
