Robbers Snatch N.6m Passengers

Six robbers at about 7.30pm last Thursday attacked a Port Harcourt bound bus and dispossessed passengers of more than six hundred thousand naira cash and properties worth thousands of naira at Ndele near Port Harcourt.

Aneyewitness’ account said, the bus which was heading to Port Harcourt from Egbema was overtaken by an ash coloured Mercedes Benz V.boot which also blocked the bus and robbed its occupants.

The eyewitness, Mr. Christian Ajala who was also in the bus, narrated that the Mercedes Benz V.boot which trailed them from Egbema, overtook them at that East West Road near Port Harcourt and blocked them and the robbers ordered the occupants to lie down.

Mr Ajala said that robbers in a swift operation rubbed a lady of N500,000 and two students of the University of Port Harcourt (male and female) of N100,000. So far, no arrest had been made, but further investigation is on, the eyewitness said.

Attempts to reach the police public relation officer, Ben Uguegbulam to comment on the issue proved abortive.
