RCDA Is Technically Balanced – Director
The Port Harcourt Director of Real Club Deportivo Academy (RCDA), Espanyol Stanley Wariso has described the club as a technically balanced and formidable team with skillful players that could go places.
Wariso stated this in an interview with The Tidesports immediately after a novelty football match to mark the club’s second anniversary/award ceremony of Rivers indigenes at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt last Saturday.
He attributed the club’s achievements within two years of existence to hard work and commitment to grassroots development of football in the state.
Wariso urged youths to have fear of God and believe in themselves.
“To fear God is the beginning of wisdom and upliftment.
“I urge them to believe in themselves and take the sport seriously”, he said.
He also appealed to the sponsors of the club to endeavour to catch them young and groom them for future soccer engagements
Meanwhile, the novelty match which was played between host Reo Academy and Siaone Academy from Abuja ended 2-1 infavour of the visitors.
Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of various awards to deserving indigenes of Rivers State and media houses for their tremendous support to the promotion and development of grassroots sports in the state.
The awardees include General Manager of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Celestine Ogolo, Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Christain Obuh, who was represented by Mr Honour Sirawu, former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, former mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government, Nnamdi Wokekoro among others.
