Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, has described the death of the former Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Joseph Adetiloye, as ‘a great loss.’

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Mike Udah, in Awka last Saturday, Obi extolled the courage and leadership qualities exhibited by the cleric before his demise.

“It is regrettable that Pa Adetiloye passed on at a time when his fatherly advice was needed in the country given the current religious and political challenges starring us in the face.

“While he will be greatly missed by everyone, we should take consolation in the fact that he led an exemplary life and showed commendable courage and leadership qualities.

“These were most visible when he superintended over the affairs of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion,” the governor remarked.

While condoling with the church, Nigerians and the Adetiloye family, Obi prayed God to grant the spiritual leader’s soul eternal rest and his admirers the fortitude to bear the loss.
