LG Boss Urges Hitch-Free Festive Season

The chairman of Andoni Local  Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Orom Nte Ereforokuma has challenged trraditional rulers, chiefs and leaders of communities in the area to ensure adequate control of festive activities in their communities to avert security breaches and bloodshed in the area.

Hon. Ereforokuma made the call over the weekend at the burial of Late Joseph Ogugodeng Otikor the father of Ataba Ward 11, Counillor, Hon. Joseph Ogugodemg at Ataba town in Andoni Local Government Area.

“I want to use this opportunity to commit you, traditional rulers, chiefs and leadership of Andoni communities to take adequate control of your communities against social vices and other criminal activities as you celebrate this festive period.

“We all know that this period is a period, when good and bad things are likely to happen, you have to make sure that all festive activities in your areas are adequately controlled to avert any security breaches and bloodshed.., he said.

The council boss vowed to arrest and prosecute any traditional ruler, chief or  community head found wanting over security issues.

On the burial of late Ogugondens the Council Chairman advised the family of the deseased to sustain his legacies.

According to then, Ereforokuma, the late Ogungondeng Otikor was the only central person in the Ataba community chieftaincy crisis, even until his death.

He described the late Ogogudeng Otikor as peace loving person and advocate of development in Andoni.

He said that the deceased was a philanthropist and one the few persons in the community, who displeased themselves to please others in terms of needs.

On the developmental projects, Hon Ereforokuma said, Ashrama Egendem, Unyeada among other communities in the area had started having constant power supplied from National grid.
