ESI Trains 2,000 Children In Rivers

The Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI), a project initiated by the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi, has trained a total of 2000 children in Rivers State.

Dame Judith Amaechi disclosed this, Monday, at the ESI headquarters, GRA Port Harcourt, during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Empowerment Support Initiative and the Kula Regional Development Council (KRDC).

The wife of the Governor said the vision is to take the project to all LGAs, and wards in the state to ensure that Rivers Children have access to quality education.

Apart from Kindargerteen development, Dame Amaechi said, ESI has a diversified programme in agricultural development, transport scheme, enterprise development and capacity building.

The ESI founder said she was happy to partner with Kula RDC, and commended the Management of Chevron over their commitment to sustainable community development.

She said the Partnership was in the establishment of an ESI School and Provision of a water treatment plant in the community.

In his remark, the Chairman of the Kula RDC, and Vice Chairman of Akuku Torn LGA, Hon Stanley Bemibo thanked the wife of the Governor for her concern for Kula community and assured that the community will collaborate with the Rivers State Government in promoting economic development.

Also speaking, the Port Harcourt Area Manager of Chevron, Mr Joe Jakpa described the ESI Project as an interventionist  programme that will enhance the quality of life of Rivers youths.

He called on the Kula RDC to take advantage of the partnership to enhance the quality of life of the community.
