Board Begins Payment Of Scholarship

The Rivers State Scholarship Board has commenced payments to undergraduates scholarship awardees in Nigerian universities.

According to a release by the Board’s press secretary Gloria Olayemi, the Chairman of the Board, Dr Elechi Amadi; disclosed this while addressing the Press in his office. The exercise which started last week would be on until all undergraduate awardees are paid, the statement added.

Dr Elechi Amadi explained that payment is being executed in groups of three local government areas for each day to ensure orderliness.

He appealed to the students to be of good conduct while receiving their cheques and be focused on their studies.

Dr Elechi futher disclosed that payments to Ph.D and disabled students would be made as soon as more funds are released to the Board.

He appealed to the students to be calm as government is doing everything to ensure that all scholarship beneficiaries are paid.

In a similar development, the state Scholarship Board has stated remitting payments to students overseas for the 2012/2013 academic session.
