Abe To Commission Constituency Project

The Senator Magnus Abe’s Computer Centre, Ngo, a constituency project of the Senator representing Rivers South East in the National Assembly is to be commissioned in the new year.

The Okan-Ama of Ngo, HRH Uboon (Dr.) U.D. Ngere who briefed newsmen on the development in Port Harcourt also urged for peaceful celebration in Andoni Local Government Area.

He said that all the necessary computers and laptops required for the functioning of the centre, sited at the Government Secondary School, Ngo have arrived the community and described the feat as first of its kind in the area.

Ngere who is also Chairman Andoni Council of Traditional Rulers told newsmen that the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBA) has also awarded contract for a drainage project in Ngo.

Meanwhile, the people of Ngo and Andoni have been enjoined to ensure a peaceful new year celebration and also live in peace in the forth-coming year.

Speaking during the 2012 end of year celebration of the Egwe-oke royal family, Port Harcourt branch, the Okan-Ama said that Andoni needs peace to develop.

He warned against the use of abusive language and name calling during the celebration, stressing that violence and other forms of antisocial activities should never have any place in the local government area.

The traditional ruler also thanked the Egwe-oke royal family, Port Harcourt branch for keeping the ideal of the family alive and urged other branches and communities in Andoni to borrow a leaf from the family.

The Port Harcourt branch Chairman of the family, Mr. Walter Nkpafiek urged members to show more commitment to the affairs of the family by ensuring regular attendance of meetings on his speech, comrade Enereuwu I. John also urged members to be committed to ideals that make Egwe-oke and Ngo great.

Others who also spoke at the ceremony include; Hon. Gogo Offiaja, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and Elder Joseph.
