RSG To Partner Journalists On ICT Dev

The Rivers State Government, has concluded plans to partner journalists in their determination to project and promote their different offices.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Instruction and Communication Technology (ICT). Engr. Goodlife Nmekini gave the assurance while donating a lap top computer to Emohua journalists in Port Harcourt recently.

Nmekini said the gesture was his quota towards enhancing output among the people in their different vocations.

He recalled that the donation was also the fulfillment of the promise he made to them some time ago in his office.

The S.A on ICT also directed that a comprehensive list of the association be made available to him, so as to enable them participate in the current two-week free ICT training in the state.

The ICT adviser charged his people to be part of the Amaechi-led administration by taking part in all government programmes.

He further explained that the aim of the ICT training was to enhance the use of ICT among Rivers people via a hand- on experience with individual connectivity to the internet.

The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Kennedy Wedeh (Jnr) also announced that the group would soon come up with a quiz competition among secondary schools in the area that would boost the morale of the students.

Wedeh, stated that ICT would soon take over the centre stage of the economy, adding that the best time to embrace the development was now.

Meanwhile, he has lauded the SA. over his gesture, and promised to make best use of the computer.
