Rotary Club Partners RSSDA On Science Education

The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt GRA District 9140, says its partnership with the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) in the Einstein Science Challenge programme will improve the quality of education in the state.

The Vice President, Rotary Club of Port Harcourt, GRA, Rotarias (Dr) Renny Cookey who said this in an interview with newsmen at the weekend in Port Harcourt also commended the Agency for pledging an automatic scholarship under the Governors Special overseas scholarship programme to the  overall best student of the programme.

The Rotary Club of GRA Vice President said that other awards will also be given to other students who distinguished themselves in the programme.

The Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) Mr Noble Pepple while commissioning the laboratory at the Holy Rosary College said that the best overall student of the programme will be awarded an overseas scholarship, while other incentives will be given to other students. Mr Pepple said that the Agency decided to partner with the Rotary club for the programme because of the importance of science in the overall development of the state.

He also charged the students to see the programme as an opportunity to improve themselves and expressed optimism that, the programme which lasted for six months will provide opportunities for students to appreciate the value of science education in the state.
