Quality Of Players Excites Sharks’ Coach
Sharks football club is getting closer to the ideal team that head coach Augustine Eguavoen wants to have before the commencement of the new season.
The team might not be on the same page of preparation with other teams but Eguavoen is particularly happy with the quality of players in camp following the return of key players in the old team.
“Hopefully if we continue like this there will be continuous improvement with one training session and another.”
“I’m very impressed with what I have seen, most especially with the return of old players,”.Eguavoen said.
“You know there is nothing as good as continuity.”
“Of course most of them have played for more than one season which is good too. Don’t forget that we also brought some home grown lads to bring balance to the team,” he added.
The team is currently camped in Calabar preparing for the new season.
Eguavoen stressed that the team came to calabar with a large number of players with the sole aim of discovering gifted players and with team now pruned to a sizeable number invited players from other teams will start arriving from tomorrow.
“What we did after the two weeks open screening in port Harcourt was to move to Calabar with a large number of players, reason being that you never know when you discover another Jay Jay Okocha who in my opinion was one of the best the world hadto offer in his days,” Eguavoen said
“So that is why we threw the camp open but haven decongest the camp now to what I think is ideal the invited players from other teams will start coming from tomorrow,” he added.
