NULGE To Honour Nmerukini, Akarolo, Others

The National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Port Harcourt
Local Government (PHALGA) branch, has concluded plans to honour the former
Mayor of Port Harcourt, Chief  Azubuike
Nmerukini and his successor, Hon. Chimbiko Iche Akarolo for their exemplary
leadership and meritorious services in office.

Blessing Amadi who stated this at a press briefing in Port Harcourt recently,
said the union resolved to reward the
Nmerukini for  construction of a
befitting council secretariat which had given the council a facelift and also
eased the problem of office accommodation in the council.

Comrade Amadi said the workers also decided to honour
Hon. Chimbiko Akarolo for his style of administration particularly his open
door policy, workers friendly programmes as well as procuring and furnishing
the council secretariat with modern furniture and office equipment amongst
others.

According to the chairman, the workers would be
honouring the past and present mayors at an award night slated for  22nd November, 2012 at the city hall within the
PHALGA secretariat, Port Harcourt. Also to be honoured is the State Pesident of
NULGE, Comrade Franklin Peter Ajunwo, who is also the Head of Local Government
Administration in PHALGA.
